Is love alive?

I couldn't embed it, so I'll just link to the old post with the video.

Sometimes I feel like this...

They say that things just cannot grow
Beneath the winter snow,
Or so i have been told.

They say we're buried far,
Just like a distant star
I simply cannot hold.

Or like this...

This is my winter song.
December never felt so wrong,
Cause you're not where you belong;
Inside my arms..

But more and more, I find that I feel like this...

I still believe in summer days.
The seasons always change
And life will find a way.

(~ Sara Bareilles with Ingrid Michaelson)

Just not in December. Or January 3 and 4.

And then the new year begins again.

What will it bring?

I hope that it brings you peace and happiness and many good things.

I also agree that time is in fact the great healer -- but like you, not on certain days. Or even certain minutes. I realized packing up Christmas that those days are the next thing on my horizon and it brought me up short.

Wishing you nothing but peace during this hard series of days, Sue. Love is alive, and I think it's why it hurts so motherfuckin' much -- especially when unrequited.

December does feel so wrong now; my celebrations are largely forced and I can only imagine what the holidays are like for you with the coinciding terror-versaries related to the loss of your sons.

(((hugs))) Holding you in my heart.

Keeping you in my thoughts, especially during these days. Sending love and hoping that some peace finds you, too.

I am visiting from LFCA, and I just wanted to let you know I am thinking of you . I think I will follow your blog to root you along as well, if you'll have me. :)

Thinking of you and C during these dark days. I saw a post in google reader that said 'surviving' but when I went to read it, it was gone. But I knew you were at least holding on.

I hope this year unfolds in pleasant ways.

Sue, Thanks for sharing that. I just wanted to say how sorry I am for your loss. I know these anniversaries can be hard.

I lost my twin boys in September and October - Jan 5th would have been their due date. Makes the holidays and the New Year sad and difficult. But I am glad to see that you remain hopeful.

I just wanted to stop by and lend my support. From one Sue whose twins left too early to another.

Wow...it seems like December turned on too many of us. It took my twin boys from me far too early. I found your blog recently and find comfort in the words of others. I wish peace for you in this new year.

I am new to this blogging thing and as a way of thanking you for putting yourself out there I want to share a blog award with you. Stop over to my blog to see it.

In the manner of my friend I was at once struck with an incoherence --an inconsistency, and I soon found this to arise from a series of feeble and futile struggles to overcome an habitual trepidancy--an excessive nervous agitation.
